Summer Nights exhibit opens Friday at Bay School

An opening reception for the Bay School Community Arts Center’s upcoming exhibit, Summer Nights, will be held from 5-7 p.m. Friday in the Art Speaks Gallery, 279 Main Street, Mathews. The exhibit will run through July 22.

Eleven artists created art using the summer night theme, said a press release. Each entry illustrates the feeling and mood of a summer night. The glowing light from the moon or fading sun, fireworks, stars lighting up a summer sky, fireflies, and nighttime reflections off the water are just a few themes used in the artwork.

There will be drinks and finger food, and the artists will be on hand to discuss their work.

“Summer nights are full of nostalgic memories that we all carry with us,” said the release. “Please join us.”
