Suicide prevention roundtable to be held in Saluda

We Are Not Alone, a suicide prevention roundtable, will be held from 12-1:30 p.m. Monday at the Middlesex Historic Courthouse, 877 General Puller Highway, Saluda.
Local leaders and mental health experts will participate in the discussion in a hybrid format. Those interested may attend the socially-distanced onsite gathering, where masking will be required, or they may participate virtually.
Kent A. Corso, PsyD, BCBA-D, will be the keynote speaker and roundtable moderator. Other participants will be Middlesex Supervisor John Koontz of Hartfield, Rebecca Morgan of the Middlesex Department of Social Services, Janika Joyner of Higher Elevation Psychosocial Services, and Casey Mewborn of the Middlesex County Sheriff’s Office.
Wake resident Kevin Gentry, who will also serve as a moderator, said the group of volunteer community members and mental health experts are hoping to spark a countywide discussion about suicide prevention and mental health challenges in general. He said the plan is to ...
