Strings & Things to present ‘The Music of Broadway’

A string quartet program titled “The Music of Broadway—Part 2” will be presented by Strings & Things at 7 p.m. on Saturday, April 29, at Urbanna Baptist Church. The program is free and open to the public.
A release said this performance is a follow-up to a Broadway—Part 1 concert that was presented last October with Broadway music from 1754 to 1960. Finding more music in their Broadway library than they could perform in one concert, the decision was made to present a second performance which includes Broadway musicals from 1960 to 2015.The Part 2 concert will include selections from “Hello Dolly,” “Cats,” “Phantom of the Opera,” “Wicked,” “Hamilton,” and other musicals.
Strings & Things is a network of between 20 and 25 professionally trained musicians in coastal and central Virginia. Members typically play for weddings, receptions, parties, and performances in duet, trio, or quartet combinations.
