It looked like something Kevin Costner might have piloted in the movie “Waterworld.” A most unusual vessel showed up in local waters last week, anchoring off Williams Wharf Landing in Mathews on Thursday morning. “It appears to have everything one would need: back-up skiff, motorcycle, camper trailer, mess tent, winches, cranes and a big diesel that drives a tilt-out prop on a long shaft. They said they were from the Pamunkey and were headed back there,” said Tim Ulsaker, who spotted the vessel as he was taking his Mobjack Rowing Association rowers out for a workout on the East River. Another Gazette-Journal reader, Ann Williams, spotted the craft later that day tied up at the Yorktown waterfront, apparently headed back to the couple’s home.
