Stingrays place second

The Middle Peninsula Stingrays, a travel baseball club from Mathews and Middlesex counties, played in the Stars of Tomorrow Tournament at the Dream Fields in Lancaster last weekend, with one game on Friday and three games Saturday.

This was the first tournament for the newly organized 12-year-olds team, which ended up taking second place in the "B" bracket.

The highlight of the tournament was a 13-0 shutout over Denbigh. Pitching for the Stingrays was led by Cody Tunstall and Elijah Willis, with additional innings pitched by Daniel Ray, Chandler Bell, Braden Hunley, and MacLean Thomas.

 

 

Team members include coach Steve Ray, Hunley, Bell, Daniel Ray, Willis, Tunstall, manager Joey Calloway coach Chad Green, Thomas, Caleb Bagley, Hunter Collier, Seth Green and Anthony Pullman.
