A funeral for Stacey Melissa “Stace” Bowen Cannon of Killeen, Texas, was held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Zion Baptist Church, Cardinal. She died Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2013.

A graduate of Tuskegee University and Auburn University, she was employed at Central Texas College in Killeen as an administrative staff assistant.

Survivors include her husband, Chad M. Cannon of Killeen; her mother and stepfather, Barbara Ann Carey Beck and Gerald Todd Beck of Stamford, Conn.; a grandmother; a sister; three brothers, and two stepbrothers.

She was predeceased by her father, Gerald Rickardo Bowen Sr.; her paternal grandfather; maternal grandfather, Roy Lee Carey Sr.; her step-grandfather, James L. Ruff, and her maternal grandmother, Mary Foster Carey Ruff, all Mathews natives.

Burial was in Poplar Woods Cemetery, Cardinal.

Forrest Brothers Funeral Home, Hudgins, was in charge.
