Sprucing up classrooms

Volunteers from multiple organizations in the Mathews community painted two Thomas Hunter Middle School classrooms this week that were in need of repair and a fresh coat of paint, just in time for the school’s Aug. 26 fall opening. New THMS principal Jodie Simpson and superintendent Dr. David S. Daniel had requested help, and through a joint effort of Mathews Community Foundation, Mathews Women’s Giving Circle, Mathews Rotary Club and Mathews Kiwanis Club, these volunteers were recruited.
