Spring coaches prepare for season at GHS

As spring begins, so does a new sports season at Gloucester High School.
The teams have already constructed their rosters, and begun to hold scrimmages with other schools. The many dedicated coaches have their own goals for the upcoming season, and their teams.
Baseball coach Gus Morande has been coaching for 27 years, 24 of those years spent as head varsity coach. This year, Morande expects the team to hold around 16 players, of mostly underclassmen, due to graduating seniors.

“We don’t want to get too many, especially on the varsity level, but we want to have enough to where we’re not struggling to make any changes that are needed,” he said. The team has made it to the regionals four years in a row, and Morande hopes to bring his boys to regionals again, to “keep that string alive.”
