Some Mathews residents have certainly jumped into the spirit for Saturday’s Halloween fun. Above, the home of Mark and Elaine Sopko included a frightening pumpkin-headed monster riding a horse, who has reared (likely because of his spectral rider). Below, the pumpkins are much friendlier, relaxing after yard work at the Port Haywood home of Violet Brownley. Her granddaughter, Haven Ottinger, visiting from Tallahassee, Florida, created the tableau. She is the daughter of Katrina and Jason Ottinger.
