Each year, American Legion Auxiliary Unit 75, Gloucester, selects a deserving community organization to be the recipient of its “spare change project.” This year, the Gloucester-Mathews Humane Society was selected and presented a check for $189.44 on Dec. 14. Spare change is collected at the group’s monthly meetings throughout the year.
