Rosette, a Richmond-based string quartet, will present Mathews Memorial Library’s first Soothin’ Summer Sounds concert of the season at 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 20, at the library. This year marks the 15th season of the library’s popular summer concerts. The theme for this year’s music series, “We Are America,” embraces the 2019 statewide celebration, “Evolution America,” said a press release. Evolution America recognizes the 400th anniversary of events in Virginia which, as defined by the Virginia American Evolution Commission, have shaped the “democratic process, cultural diversity, historical traditions and entrepreneurial spirit of the United States.” The library’s opening concert will introduce a new group to the community of concert attendees.
