Solo show at Arts on Main features works of Toy Fowler

Arts on Main is hosting a solo show throughout December featuring Toy Fowler, winner of the 2021 Annual Juried Show.
A Hampton native, Fowler now lives in Gloucester. Primarily a self-taught artist, he began to draw and paint at an early age, taking lessons in the studio of Tidewater artist Jack Clifton. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at Virginia Commonwealth University.
After graduation, Fowler worked as a digital designer and illustration artist. In 2010, he began working in oil and took classes and workshops at the Art Renewal Center, studying under Rob Liberace and Tina Garrett.
A realist artist, Fowler has participated in more than 30 regional and national art competitions. His work has been shown in the Principle Gallery in Alexandria, in the National Portrait Societies’ Members Only competition, in the Virginia Artist Regional Juried Show at the Charles H. Taylor Art Center, and in the Art Renewal Center’s International ARC Salon.
