Snowman math

Just because students were out of school last week following the snowstorm doesn’t mean they weren’t still learning. Jack and Abigail Ramsey and Nathan Powell of Mathews, from left, built this snowman last Thursday. But it wasn’t all fun. This was also an extra credit math assignment for Jack to measure the diameter of each sphere and then calculate the surface area and volume of his snowman. Thomas Hunter Middle School seventh grade math teacher Brook Aldridge gave this unique and creative assignment to her students.
