Smith Family and Friends Christmas Show Saturday at MHS

Virginia’s Li’l Ole Opry will present its annual Smith Family and Friends Christmas Show Saturday at Mathews High School’s Harry M. Ward Auditorium.  Doors open at 7:30 and the show begins at 8 p.m.
The house band, Shades of Country, along with the Opry singers, will offer country and traditional Christmas selections on the first half of the show. 
After the intermission, the stage will transform into Charlie’s Playroom, where the toys come to life, delighting everyone with spirited songs and a message of Christmas for all to enjoy, a release stated. Children ranging in age from 3 to 14 years will sing familiar Christmas tunes, like “Frosty the Snowman” and “Here Comes Santa Claus.”
As always, the show will end with the reading of the Christmas story from the Bible and the family singing Christmas hymns, such as “O Holy Night,” “Away in a Manger” and “Hallelujah, He is Born.”
