Kevin Smith was elected chairman and Ashley Chriscoe vice chair during Tuesday’s organizational meeting of the Gloucester County Board of Supervisors.
Smith was nominated for chairman by Chriscoe and he was elected by the board’s unanimous vote by the board. Chriscoe was nominated as vice chair by Dr. Robert “JJ” Orth and was also elected by unanimous vote.
Maria Calloway gave a presentation on the FY 2024 audited to unaudited financial results. Calloway explained that the main audit change was a decrease in school state and federal revenue which impacts the county’s general fund in the form of an increase in required transfers to the schools. She further explained that the schools did not overspend its total budget but it impacts the county transfers to the schools. A resolution was made for a request of additional FY 2025 Carryover Appropriations presented by Calloway.
