A Smart Pole was installed last week at Bethel United Methodist Church on Garden Creek Road in Mathews. This was the final pole to be installed under Mathews County Broadband Advisory Board’s CARES Act grant, which was awarded to provide free wireless broadband internet service in areas of the county that have limited or no coverage. Board chair Judy Rowe urged residents to take their Wi-Fi-enabled devices and drop by the church parking lot to try out the service, saying, “You should be pleasantly surprised at the quality of the video in particular.”
