Skateboarding contest to be held Saturday at Brown Park

A skateboarding contest for ages 12 to 18 will be held Saturday at Brown Park in Gloucester. Registration for participants begins at 11 a.m. and the competitions get underway at 1 p.m. Three different skate competitions will be offered and each has a $10 entry fee.

The event is open to the public with an admission fee of $7. There will also be food, drinks and T-shirts available and local bands will provide music. The competition is being organized by Gloucester High School student Austin White as part of his senior board project. Proceeds from the event will be donated by White to the Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters.
