Singing and prayer planned at Bethel Church

There will be a singing school and prayer meeting at Bethel next Thursday night. All who are interested in the singing and prayer exercises are invited to attend.

The Gloucester Woman’s Club, which was recently incorporated, is endeavoring to sell shares to enable it to purchase Edge Hill, the property which it occupies. The shares are $5 each and the co-operation of the general public will be welcomed in the effort to save this old landmark, which if not bought by the Club may be eventually torn down.

Mr. A. Noblett, manager of the New Point Packing Company, is in the County preparing the plant at New Point and getting materials in place for the packing of herring during the coming season. He received and unloaded a schooner load of salt last week and is pretty well fixed for the finny tribe when they arrive in force.
