The Virginia Birding Classic 2025, in which teams search the state’s public lands for as many species as they can find in 24 hours, is open for registration.
The classic itself takes place in a 24-hour period, chosen by the team, between April 15 and May 15. Birders search for species on federal, state, county and municipal parks.
Registration proceeds will benefit the Virginia Wildlife Grant Program. Signup is through the Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources.
