Shirley Ann Smith, age 80, of Gloucester Point, died at her home on Thursday, August 8, 2024. Shirley was born on June 6, 1944 in St. Louis, Missouri. Shirley worked for Riverside Behavioral as a registered nurse. She was a member of AA for 39 years and found joy in helping others. Shirley was also a lifelong animal lover and found happiness with her four-legged companions.

Shirley was preceded in death by her son, Michael Andrew Winstead. She is survived by her son, Warren Anthony Winstead; granddaughters, Taylor Renee Winstead and Courtney Nichole Pease; grandson, Warren Winstead, and four great-grandchildren, Scott Allen Pease III, Jackson Pease, Lucille Pease, and Sofia Pease, as well as many friends. The family received friends at Hogg Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, from 10-10:45 a.m., followed by a chapel service at 11. Interment followed at Gloucester Point Cemetery. In memory of Shirley, contributions can be made to the Gloucester-Mathews Humane Society, P.O. Box 385, Gloucester, Va. 23061.
