Sheltering Arms Hospital

The York River Circle of The King’s Daughters and Sons heard a presentation last Tuesday on the new Sheltering Arms Hospital that opened in 2020 in Goochland. The 114-bed hospital is for patients who have had strokes, cancer, brain injury, or spinal cord injury, as well as for amputees and those needing bio-medical engineering. All of The King’s Daughters circles in the area contribute to the hospital, said a press release, and it was named one of the best hospitals for rehabilitation in 2023-2024 by U.S. News and World Report. Shown here at the presentation are, from left, York River Circle vice president Sandra Harvey, Sheltering Arms Institute representatives Tricia Amber and Lisa Resch, and York River Circle president Vicki Wolz.
