The Gloucester High School wrestling team finished 19th overall at the Class 5 State Championships last weekend.
The Duke who had the strongest showing during the event was Aiden Sheesley (106 lbs.) who placed fourth in his weight bracket. Head coach Kyle Bell said Sheesley scored two wins by fall on Friday to secure a spot in the semifinals where he lost to the eventual state champion by decision. In the consolation bracket finals, Sheesley fell after two periods of action.
Bell said the coaching staff was proud of Sheesley and the other Gloucester wrestlers who also competed at states.
