Shay’s cooking passion started on the shores of Massachusetts

“Living in Virginia for a year has just been wonderful with its beautiful greenery, the open waters and such friendly people,” exclaimed Shay Edmond. “It’s not like the somewhat desert area where we lived for some time.”
Shay and her husband Aaron Case moved to Mathews from Utah where Aaron, a military man, had been stationed. It was Shay’s “best friend” Katy Bootle who convinced them to come this way. “I’m an East Coast girl from Massachusetts.”
Shay brought with her the love of cooking “especially baking, that’s what my heart is in.” Her knowledge of baking started in Massachusetts. “I learned to cook from my mother. She did all the family cooking using a lot of old family recipes. The first thing I ever cooked by myself was scrambled eggs. Later I learned to bake, did a lot of it and shared with others, which is what I do with breads and cookies left over after Saturday sales.
