Sessoms retiring from Gloucester Yoga

After owning and operating Gloucester Yoga for nearly seven years, Nancy Sessoms of Gloucester will be closing her business May 15.“I really believe in the benefits of yoga,” said Sessoms.
After retiring from NASA and government contract consulting, Sessoms decided to become a yoga instructor. She finished her yoga teaching training in 2013 and started teaching at Anytime Fitness. She also taught for Gloucester County Parks, Recreation and Tourism at Abingdon Elementary School.
Sessoms decided to open her own studio to give her students a conducive environment to practice yoga. She also saw a need for a studio close to home.
“I wanted a yoga studio in Gloucester,” said Sessoms.
Her studio became a place where her student could find “their peace in the pose.”
Business began to pick up in 2019, but she had to close her studio in March 2020 at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. Sessoms had her Zoom classes up and running by that April, an option many are still choosing. The pandemic ...
