Fiber artist Janet Griffin is teaching a series of classes on felting at Arts on Main in Gloucester.
The first class will be on creating a felted purse. It will be held from 1-4 p.m. Saturday. Participants will choose quality colors from a variety of Corriedale and Romney sheep fibers, as well as silk and mohair, to create a one-of-a-kind 6½-inch purse. The cost of the class is $50.
A class on making felted flowers will be held from 1-4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 28. Students will learn the easy wet method of wool felting, form fluffy wool fibers into a three-dimensional wool flower with six or more petals. The cost of the class is $40.
The final class will be on making a felted cuff to be worn as a bracelet. Students will form wool approximately 7½ inches long, again using Corriedale and Romney fibers and finishing with silk and sparkles. The cost is $40.
