The Lancaster Virginia Historical Society and Lancaster Community Library will co-host a talk by Andy Graff, “Early Postal History of Lancaster County,” on Tuesday, Sept. 17, at the library, 16 Town Center Drive, Kilmarnock. The program begins at 7 p.m.; doors open at 6:30. Admission is free.
Graff will discuss Virginia’s postal history, with a local emphasis, and discuss examples from his collection of envelopes and postmarks from Lancaster and the Northern Neck. Graff has been combining his love of history and postal collecting since the 1980s and is a former board member of the Albemarle Charlottesville Historical Society. He grew up near Tappahannock and has spent his adult life in Albemarle County where he owns Old Albemarle Surveying LLC.
