Approximately 800 people attended the 2nd Annual Gloucester Wine Festival at the Moton Center, Cappahosic, said Makalia Records, executive director of sponsor Gloucester County Chamber of Commerce.
Records said Monday that the event, held Oct. 22, drew about 400 more people than turned out for the first event last year.
"It was a fabulous day," Records said. Seven Virginia wineries served samples throughout the day, while 45 vendors displayed and sold jewelry, food, wine accessories, photography and other goods.
"We even had a deer run through the festival as the vendors were setting up their tents," Records said. Many Gloucester Chamber members were vendors, she said, and they "made some great contacts for their businesses."
