Second Virginia death from COVID-19 occurs

A second death from COVID-19 has occurred in Virginia, in the Peninsula Health District.
Rep. Rob Wittman announced the death in a press release on Monday, March 16. He provided no details about the victim, but he urged diligence on the part of everyone.
“It is the responsibility of all Virginians to slow the spread of this virus,” said Wittman. “This is a very serious health threat and all should take it seriously.”
Wittman also pointed to new guidance from the White House that calls for Americans to avoid social gatherings of more than 10 people.
“I urge all Virginians to heed this guidance,” he said. “Please continue to practice social distancing as well as washing your hands regularly and avoiding touching your face.”
