Sean Patrick Lynch, 40, of Gloucester lost his struggle with depression on Thursday, May 9, 2024. He was a deeply loved father, son, brother, and uncle.
To know Sean was to know his smile, laughter, generosity, and kindness. He was quick to help family and friends and would freely share his talents and time. He was troubled at times, but always the light of our lives. Sean was here. He mattered.
Sean was born in Keflavik, Iceland, but left when he was one. In 2017, he and his mother had the trip of a lifetime for their shared birthdays, exploring Iceland and having new adventures. He worked at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard and by trade he was a carpenter.
As a child, Sean always explored with his siblings and friends. As an adult he enjoyed many adventures. He had a deep love for the water, surfing, sailing, fishing, and more. He shared his love of life with everyone and was the fun one in the family.
He is survived by his daughter, Emma Nichole Lynch of Gloucester; parents, Anna Lynch of Gloucester, Michael Lynch of Grandy, North Carolina; sisters, Michele Tague (Rick) of Canadian Lakes, Michigan, Dawn Lynch (Scott Ridolfi) of Gloucester, Jessica Lynch of Gloucester; one niece, and six nephews.
A gathering of family and friends to celebrate Sean’s life will be held from 5:30-8 p.m. on Thursday, May 16, at Mobjack Tavern, 5036 George Washington Memorial Highway, Hayes.
Stories of Sean’s escapades and kindnesses will be welcomed.
