Seafood restaurant opens at White Marsh

Off The Hook Seafood Shanty opened for business March 21 at White Marsh Shopping Center.

Angela Eyre-Harder of Glass, owns the restaurant, which specializes in seafood dishes, along with some pasta, chicken, salads and soups. The building previously housed the convenience store for a gas station and has been redesigned to seat 48 diners.

Customers can dine in or take out, and Harder also offers a retail section where you can drop by to pick up freshly-packed crab soup, dips, and some prepared dishes. Soon, she plans to sell a selection of fresh fish and shellfish, along with some steamed shrimp and other cooked delicacies to take home.

Beer-battered fish and chips has been selling well, Harder said, with the Atlantic cod cooked with a Yuengling beer batter and served with hand-cut fries and a homemade tartar sauce. Also popular are crabcakes, fried shrimp, clam chowder, crab soup, Greek salad, and the pork barbecue sandwich, which Harder said features tender pulled pork roaste...
