School board, supervisors hold work session

Gloucester’s supervisors and school board members held a joint work session Tuesday night to discuss a myriad of school items, including enrollment, accreditation and capital improvement projects.
During the meeting in the T.C. Walker Education Center auditorium, school superintendent Dr. Walter Clemons provided an enrollment update to the two boards. County schools now have a total enrollment of 4,962, which exceeds the original projected total of students, which was 4,773.
Clemons also provided an accreditation status update. All eight schools in the district are fully accredited with no stipulations.
Executive Director of Operations Bryan Hartley presented on the proposed Gloucester County Public Schools long-range capital plan for fiscal years 2024-2028.
