The Gloucester County School Board met in the T.C. Walker Education Center auditorium Tuesday night for its regular monthly meeting, where it discussed the budget, including the possibility of adding a public information coordinator position for the district.
According to superintendent of schools Dr. Anthony Vladu, the public information coordinator, which was downgraded from a public information officer position, would be responsible for handling crisis communication with the parents and public and helping with Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests.
Vladu also said that the public information coordinator would work closely with county communication, as well as the community engagement coordinators that are present at each school with the exception of Gloucester High School. Community engagement coordinators are employed by the county.
