Sarah Taylor, a member of the Mathews High School Class of 2023, was recently recognized by the Church of Francis de Sales as recipient of the Roman Catholic church’s Claude V. Simmons Scholarship. That scholarship was established to support post-secondary educational opportunities for qualifying members of Francis de Sales. The yearly award is for $5,700 and is renewable every academic year pending academic success and enrollment. Taylor will attend VCU in the fall where she plans to study graphic design.
