Sarah Jane of Gloucester, was born to the late Francis and Mary Cartwright on Aug. 30 1922 in Cresson, Pa., and went to meet her maker on Sept. 3, 2011.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Alfred L McNutt Sr. and Herbert D. Clements, and her siblings Ted, Mildred, Irene and Delores.
She is survived by her son, Alfred L. McNutt Jr. (Kathy) of Gloucester; her grandchildren, Jeffery A. McNutt of Shallowater, Texas, Dr. Deborah M. McNutt of Grand Rapids, Mich., Dr. Lea McNutt Cranford (Seth) of Port Republic, Md.; a great-grandson, Trevor McNutt; and siblings, Bill, Jim, Betty, Bernice, Leroy, Linda and Mike.
Jane was a devoted member of the Bellamy United Methodist Church where she was an active participant in the XYZ Club, Virginia and National Methodist Women, and The King’s Daughters.
The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff of St. Francis Nursing Home for their attention to her care and a special thanks to Carolyn Moore, J.D. and Frankie Clements for their many kindnesses to our mother.
A graveside service was held at the Bellamy Methodist Church Cemetery at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2011.
Andrews Funeral Home, Gloucester, was in charge of the arrangements.
