Nicole M. Santiago is August’s featured artist at the Bay School Community Arts Center in Mathews.
The judge and juror of the Art Speaks 2020 Juried Show, now on virtual exhibit one the center’s website, Santiago feels that one of her most challenging jobs as a professional artist is judging the merit of another artist’s work. She said she does her best to provide fair and unbiased responses to each artist’s work.
Santiago holds a BFA in painting from Indiana University and an MFA in painting from the University of New Hampshire, said a press release. She is currently an Associate Professor of Art at the College of William and Mary, where she teaches drawing, color theory, and 2D design.
Over the last 15 years, Santiago has exhibited her artwork in over 100 group and solo shows, said the release.
