Santa Claus is coming

Members of the Abingdon Volunteer Fire and Rescue Squad will escort Santa Claus through Guinea on Saturday.
A tradition for over 35 years, a group of helpers will leave the station to start the annual tour with Santa in the Guinea Neck area and hope to make it to the Tidemill Road area by dark.
Sirens and Christmas music will be the telltale signs Santa and his helpers aren’t far away. If the weather is bad, the trip may be modified for everyone’s safety.
On Dec. 7, the trip will pick up where it ended the previous week and make it down through Gloucester Point.
The trip will continue Dec. 14 from the Hayes area to Crewe Road and on Dec. 21 will visit the Ordinary, Glass and Seawell’s Trace areas.
