Mathews County native William Earl Sadler will be the featured performer at Li’l Ole Opry show on Saturday. Doors open at Mathews High School’s Harry M. Ward Auditorium at 7:30 p.m. for the 8 o’clock show.
William Earl is a local favorite with an amazing tenor voice and an edgy blues style accompanied by his expertise on the keyboards, a Li’l Ole Opry release stated. He has played and sung in bands since he was in his teens, and developed a following in the area. He plays keyboards for the Opry house band, Shades of Country.
The concert will feature house band, Shades of Country, and all of the Opry singers on the first half, with Sadler taking the stage after intermission. In addition to Sadler, the Opry band includes Richard Smith on drums, David Shuber on bass guitar, Sam Hogge on lead guitar, Jeff Long on acoustic guitar and Michael Gregg on fiddle.
