Sadie B. Jones, 68, a Gloucester native, and the daughter of the late Samuel L. Stokes Sr. and Mary Jane Chapman Stokes, departed this life on Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2016.

She was preceded in death by three daughters, Melinda T. Jones, Tonet V. Jones Robinson, and Gail Jones Holley, and two sisters, Isabelle Pollard and Lynette Miller.

She is survived by two daughters, Carla J. Ruffin (Antonio) and Patricia Jones; three sisters, Frances Willis, Vivian Washington (Charles), and Fannie Stokes; four brothers, Carrol Stokes (Carolyn), Richard Stokes (Ella Norman), Ronald Stokes, and Samuel Stokes Jr.; one brother-in-law, Everett Miller; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives.

Sadie, our hearts will FOREVER have a void that cannot be filled. 

A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 7, 2017 at New Mount Zion Baptist Church, Woods Cross Roads, Gloucester, Virginia 23061.

The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to New Mount Zion Baptist Church.
