Gloucester
Following a series of weather-related cancellations, the Gloucester Rowing Association made a triumphant return to competition over the weekend at the Ryz Obuchowicz Regatta at Sandy Run Regional Park, Fairfax, clinching victories in several events.
Gloucester’s rowers secured three first-place finishes, three second-place finishes and three third-places finishes at the regatta.
One of the standout performances came from Braxten Abelar and Dannie LaCosa who powered their way to first place in the women’s double event.
Jacob Gross, Mason Dominguez, Tristan Buswell and Ezra Ward combined their talents to secure first place in the men’s four event, showcasing precision and synchronization throughout the race.
Abelar, Maylaya Thompson, Cameron Micket and LaCosa took second place in the women’s four event. Also in second place was Carter Blankenship in the men’s single race. Zachary Hudson and Cooper White worked together to achieve second place in the men’s double event.
