Riverside Walter Reed Hospital has been newly designated as a Chest Pain Center by the American College of Cardiology and Riverside Medical Center has been reaccredited. Both accreditations last through 2027.
The ACC criteria for Chest Pain Center accreditation levels refer to the treatment capabilities offered at each facility.
Hospitals who maintain 24/7 coverage with an interventional cardiologist and cardiac catheterization lab team are eligible for the Chest Pain Center designation. Hospitals which do not have 24/7 treatment capabilities on-site but maintain a robust detailed transfer protocol are eligible for the Chest Pain Center designation.
