The Gloucester Ruritan Club held its August annual picnic at Beaverdam Park. Joining them were Girl Scout Troop 1143 members Jennie (Scout Leader) and Jade Hawkins, bottom photo from left, who led the club in the Pledge of Allegiance. Special guests included spouses Rachel Brown and Betty Ford Lipps representing deceased members. Above, club president Bill Naquin, at right, presented name tags to new members Michael Bombard and Meggie Smith. Jennie Hawkins said the troop is seeking to raise money for new kayaks for the Burke’s Mill Pond Girl Scout camp.
