Roy Nelson Haynes, 56, of Hayes, was called to his heavenly home on Saturday, Dec. 10, 2011.
Roy worked as a Lead Lineman for Dominion Virginia Power and recently retired in 2010 after 37 years of service.
He was a skilled carpenter utilizing much of his recent retirement creating, building and crafting wood. Also, Roy would take pleasure in traveling, especially to Hawaii, in addition to his journey through the western United States.
In his spare time, boating and fishing were a great contentment, as well as his morning coffee and daily chats with his friends at Duck In, Gloucester Point.
He was a member of Groves Memorial Presbyterian Church, VEPCO Barehand Club, and a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local Union 50.
Father William Edgar "Billy" and mother Doris Blackburn Haynes preceded him in death.
Survivors include wife, Teresa Roxanne Haynes; son, Ronald Wayne Haynes and wife Annette; step-grandchildren, Tiffany, Savannah and Heather; sister, Frances West; brother, Don Keith Haynes and wife Angie; nieces, Stephanie and Stacey; great-niece, Sophie; special cat, Salem; many special friends and co-workers.
Roy was a wonderful, loving husband, father and brother who will be greatly missed.
Funeral services conducted by Pastor Bill West were held Wednesday at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point. Interment followed in Rosewell Memorial Garden Cemetery. The family received friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 7- 8:30 p.m.
