Gloucester Ruritan Club president Tom Swankler, at left, presented Dr. Wes Wilson with a club mug for his recent presentation on the Woodville Rosenwald School Foundation. Dr. Wilson recapped the roles Booker T. Washington, T.C. Walker and Julius Rosenwald had in the building of African American community schools across the United States. Wilson said that originally there were 5,300 black schools but only 800 are remaining, of which Woodville is one of the finest examples. He recapped plans for the renovation and use of the school for community events.
