Retired U.S. Coast Guard veteran Tim Roscher of Mathews will be the guest speaker at the next luncheon meeting of the Northern Neck-Middle Peninsula Chapter of the Virginia Aeronautical Historical Society next Thursday, April 18, at the Pilot House Restaurant in Topping.
A meet-and-greet will be held at 11:30 a.m., lunch at noon and the program at 12:30 p.m. at the restaurant adjacent to Hummel Field.
Roscher will talk about the Coast Guard, its mission and his USCG experiences. He will share pictures, stories and engage in a question-and-answer period. His Coast Guard service and Air Water Search & Rescue operations include: Dropmaster and Loadmaster on HC130 Aircraft; Radio Operator and Dropmaster on the HU25 Falcon—Search Jet Plane; Helicopter Rescue Swimmer on H3 Helicopters; Search and Rescue Cases in C-130s; Drug Patrols; ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) patrols; course developer for Rescue Swimmer School training, and occasional “drowning victim” for same training i...
