A Celebration of Life service for Ronald Weston “Ronny” Tabb, 67, of Yorktown, was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 16, in Zion Prospect Baptist Church, Yorktown. He died Nov. 9, 2013.

 

He was born in Boston, Mass., and reared in Cobbs Creek. He was a 1964 graduate of Thomas Hunter High School and earned a B.S. degree from North Carolina A&T University in 1971. He retired from the U.S. Naval Reserve after serving 20 years.

 

Mr. Tabb was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Miriam Tabb; a sister, Sandra Clayborne, and a brother, Leland Tabb.

 

Survivors include his wife of 18 years, Frances “Bunnie” Gaines-Tabb; a brother, Sherwin Tabb; his children, Darrell “Tony” Tabb, Keith Jones and Michael Tabb, Rhonda Arrington, Shonda Dawson, and his stepchildren, Marius Fullwood and Tamica Fullwood, and 12 grandchildren.

 

Burial was in Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery, Cobbs Creek.

 

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
