Ronald Wade Stubblefield of Gloucester, passed away peacefully on Jan. 19, 2023, in Riverside Regional Medical Center. Ronnie was born on Sept. 27, 1942, in Mobile, Alabama, to his late parents, Wade Clements and Sylvia Grimstead Stubblefield. He was a member of the 1961 graduating class at Gloucester High School and retired from Northrop Grumman Newport News Shipbuilding in 2004 after 42 years and was a member of Newington Baptist Church, on Main Street. In addition to his parents, stepmother, Alma Fitchett Stubblefield, preceded him in death. Ronnie is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Kay Brown Stubblefield, and daughters, Rachel and Sara. He is also survived by a sister, Rita Stubblefield-Middleton (Hugh); cousins, Annette Carter and Robert Stubblefield; stepsister, Ginger Rowe; sister-in-law, Beth Henderson (Wayne), as well as nieces and nephew, Kristy Jenkins (Lester), Tripp Little (Anna) and Jenny Jackson (Steven). The family received friends at Hogg Funeral Home on Sunday, Jan. 22, 2023, from 3-4:30 p.m. A Celebration of Life service, conducted by the Rev. Bill West, was held in the Chapel of Hogg Funeral Home on Monday, Jan. 23, 2023, at 11 a.m. Following the service, the burial was in Newington Baptist Church Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
