Ronnie Howlett, aged 77, of Saluda, went home to be with the Lord on July 28, 2024, following a tragic accident the week before. Born in Gloucester, Virginia, Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Alma Howlett, and a sister, Tammie Vaughan.
A loving husband of 51 years, Ronnie is survived by his devoted wife, Sharon Leasure Howlett; loving daughter; Amy Stokes and husband David, and precious granddaughter, Chloe Stokes. Ronnie is also survived by his four siblings, Kenny Howlett (Lisa), Pam Hudgins (Gerald “Bubba”), Mary Burgess, and J.T. (Lynn) Vaughan. He will be sadly missed by his nieces, nephews, and the NBHA Barrel Racing family.
Ronnie was a commercial fisherman for many years. He enjoyed horseback riding, barrel racing, traveling with his wife, and spending time with his family and horses at Destiny Farm.
A member of Saluda Baptist Church, a celebration of Ronnie’s remarkable life will take place at the church at a later date. A notice of the date and time will be placed in the newspaper and on the church’s Facebook page.
