Rocky’s Auto and Truck Repair opened last week on Route 14 in Mathews at the site of the former Love Repair.
Husband-and-wife team Rocky and Amanda Calautti have taken over the business, which was previously owned by Amanda’s uncle, Richard Love, who recently retired.
“We’re keeping it in the family,” said Amanda. She said that Rocky has helped out at the shop on weekends over the years and that “it just felt right for all of us.”
Rocky said he offers a full line of preventative maintenance and repairs on all makes and models of vehicles, including tractor-trailers and other large commercial vehicles. He said he has diagnostic capabilities for commercial vehicles and is able to work on difficult drivability and electrical issues.
“If it’s a butt-kicker for everybody, I’ll take that job because it’s a learning experience for me,” he said. “If you’re not learning something new every day on these vehicles, you’re not doing your job.”
