Robert “Rob” Powell Knox, of Gloucester Point, went to his heavenly home on Saturday, Dec. 20, 2014, with his family by his side.

Rob was born on Jan. 2, 1939 in Victoria, Va., to Robert A. Knox Jr. and Josephine V. Knox.

He retired from Naval Weapons Station, Yorktown. He was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church.

His father, Robert A. Knox Jr., preceded him in death.

Rob leaves behind the love of his life, Mary Elizabeth Love Knox; son, Alex Gardner of Las Vegas, Nevada; mother, Josephine V. Knox of The Gardens at Warwick Forest, Newport News; sister, Wanda K. Norton and husband Johnny of Gloucester Point; sister-in-law, Frankie Love of Virginia Beach, and granddaughters, Alexa and Shelby Gardner of Las Vegas.

A memorial service, conducted by Pastor Debbie Marion, was held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2014, at Bethany United Methodist Church. Inurnment was private.
