Bob loved to be on the water and spent much of his spare time boating on San Francisco Bay. He always had a dream of “going out the Golden Gate and turning left.”
In 1995, that dream came true. He retired and he, Jeanine and their two West Highland Terriers traveled through Mexico and the Panama Canal to the East Coast on their 62 ft. cruiser. They fell in love with that side of the country and its distinctive seasons. They drove up the coast from Florida and happened upon the small town of Mathews, Va., where they purchased Weston Hall on the East River. During his time in Mathews, he purchased and rehabilitated a number of buildings and was involved in the restaurant business, including Dolls & Deli and Daffodils.
He also owned homes on Grand Bahama Island and Colorado Springs, Colo.
In 2023, he met, fell in love with, and married his wife, Terry. He is survived by his wife; sister, Lois Roberts; daughters, Lisa Voth and Dena Voth; stepson, Marc Gisvold; granddaughter, Jessica, and his two best buddies—his grandson Aaroh and furry companion, Mattie.
Memorial services will be held privately.
